Dave and his team were hard at work from day one. I had already been checking progress and quality of work on a wrap-round near me and was most impressed .It was satisfying to watch the fast progress of the build , Dave would explain anything you didn’t, understand and Karen in the office did an excellent job sending in forms for me when I was clueless on what to do. I cannot recommend this company enough if you want a top quality job doing DGL is the team I would recommend.

Following planning approval in 2022 for a 20 square meters single storey extension, we selected DGL from the FMB website and were impressed with DGL’s approach to the job, being considerate, practical and making very helpful suggestions to make the work run smoothly. After initial pricing from several contractors we asked DGL to carry out the work and also asked for some additional items to be included in a single agreed contract with DGL to carry out the full works. Starting in mid August our project was completed by mid December including a 2 week delay period for a planning amendment to the original consent. DGL’s team of associated trades are all skilled, efficient and available to discuss any questions or details. DGL’s calm approach and problem solving ability made sure that the job progressed without any major delay. All in all we are delighted with the work and have no hesitation in recommending DGL as a reliable, skilled and conscientious partner for a building project.

I had never had any building work done before, so I was nervous about choosing a builder, especially as everyone is so quick to warn you of potential problems and what to watch out for! Dave suggested that I go and see some of the jobs he had done in the past, and invited me to the job that he was working on currently.
The fact that he was keen to do this reassured me! The standard of his work was very high. He was very open about costing and wrote everything down in detail. I was very happy for him to start work on my extension. Dave and his team were very hard working, and all had a pleasant and friendly manner.
They kept the site tidy, and kept me informed throughout all stages of the process. I am extremely happy with the work that Dave has done on my house. All of the tradesmen that sub-contracted for Dave were also excellent and I am thrilled with the work. I would not hesitate to recommend Dave, and I would certainly call if I ever need any more work doing on my house!

We have used DGL brickwork on several occasions for projects on and around our home.
These projects have consisted of:
- Reconstruction of house front and hallway to change building layout and break through to
existing extension building. - To open out the new space extensive steel supports were installed.
- New concrete floors were fitted around new drains for a downstairs toilet.
- At the rear of our home new supports were fitted to allow new kitchen / utility space to be opened up.
- To accommodate a new kitchen layout a rear door opening was bricked up to match existing brickwork.
- The outside ground works were re-newed and new pathways layed.
- A new upstairs window opening was created.
- More recently a window opening was converted for provision of French doors.
DGL’s quality of work is consistently high and there’s never any surprises because of the attention to detail and good planning.
Nothing is left to chance especially where safety is concerned.
This is why we have used DGL over again and recommended DGL to others ( plus they leave everything clean and tidy

We asked DGL Builders for a quote to build our new extension back in July 2009 having sent our planning application in, their quote was in mid range of the other estimates we received but having seen other work carried out by them we decided that was good enough. We offered DGL the work and they also became our site Manager.
Once planning permission was granted DGL began work in early January 2010 although hampered by extremely bad snow and frost they managed to get the footings underway and kept us informed of their progress all the way, it soon developed into our dream extension.
David Lomas (the proprietor) is a first class brick layer come Site Manager and nothing was too much for him. We mitered him to death yet he accommodated us in every department of the build, he took us through every area of the plans from our architect and described in depth each part of work that was being carried out at that particular time.
DGL provided a top class extension with superior brick work and excellent site Managership, we would recommend DGL for any building project and would not hesitate in using their services for any future work on our existing house or any other property that we may own in the future.
